    On Dec 7, 2019 my husband thought he’d surprise me with a puppy for my birthday. After doing some research on dogs he decided on an Aussiedoodle (very smart breed & energetic) & found a “breeder” in Calgary area that recently had a litre of puppies that were ready to be rehomed. My husband fell in love with one of the dogs from one of the owners (Jolene Argent) & arranged pick up on Dec 7, 2019. Shortly after receiving our puppy we starting noticing some red flags with this breeder. She never provided my husband with any generic information on the parents, no bill of sale, no contract, no support, no nothing...in addition our pour pup started having some major issues & I tried reaching out to Jolene via both email & phone with absolutely no replies. We were new dog owners & unfortunately did not know any better & feel Jolene totally took advantage of us. She is a backdoor breeder whom we believe is no doubt running a puppy-mill given the health problems of our puppy & she no doubt knows it given her lack of response. I am a member of YYC Doodles, as is she, and she has even deleted me so she doesn’t have to face the reality of the situation. I had to put an ad up trying to rehome my pup cause of the issues & Jolene is aware of this not only cause of the ad but cause of my text to her which she ignored. As a breeder it’s absolutely sickening that she would ignore this & turn her back up to facing the issues of her own bread puppies. We paid a pretty penny for this pup ($1,800) and didn’t even get generic testing done, nor did this include the second shots or any type of take home package or support. We paid for the second & third shots & have now also have to pay for the health issues in addition & it’s an 18 week puppy (well for all we know, if it’s actually even the truth). We don’t even know if this dog is actually an Aussiedoodle. Jolene wouldn’t even let my husband see the mom of the puppy. He was only aloud to see the dad & he said the dad was all “scraggly” looking. That to me is already a huge red flag!!! Why on earth would he be denied access to see the mom? He also was no aloud to see the inside of her house? This is also a red flag...were the conditions of her house so bad that he was denied access? Again, my husband unfortunately did not know better. He meant well & only wanted to see me happy. I myself, would have walked the other way, but Jolene knew what she was doing & took full advantage of a super nice guy. The only blessing to this is a puppy was “rescued” from her care. Our pup is deathly scared of crates & pens. He HATES being looked up. So when Jolene tells you in her business description that they do not kennel dogs & they are with them 24/7 I would question this 100%. We cannot leave our puppy for even a second. He cannot be locked up cause he is frightened to death & needs medication. Most dogs that come from good breeders come fully crate trained & if not, then I would have looked the other way cause then it’s genetics or some other reason! I’m begging you to do your research on this company cause we didn’t & regret it everyday & are paying the price in a very hard way. I am making it my mission to warn as many people as I can about this company. She also goes by the name Gypsy Farms. Don’t trust what you she tells you....take it from me & my husband who have personally dealt with her & actually purchased one of her puppies (funny she doesn’t mention anything about breeding dogs either? My husband found her ad on Kijiji). Don’t make the same mistake. Stay clear of using her for anything & you’ll be safe. Be aware!!!
