Sylvan Learning of Mid-South Calgary

We enrolled our son in the coding program as he is very interested in coding. The program description was quite vague and had we known he would be only doing Tynker modules that are self directed and could be found for free online, we never would have enrolled him. From day one the instructor was a problem...she did not seem to know anything about coding and actually had my 9 year old son show HER and the other student how to do things. We expressed our concerns right away and were reassured he would be challenged and would have fun. This did not happen. The only thing my son ever wanted to know about coding the instructor would say "I do not know how to do that but I will find out and show you next week." Well, each week came and went and she kept forgetting. My son would get into "trouble" for working too far ahead and he would have nothing to do. It was a total joke. One time the instructor did not show up and a grumpy elderly lady filled in and gave my son trouble for going too far ahead. There were only TWO students and my son taught the other student how to code. Our concerns were ignored and continue to be. We didn't even send him to the last session as he begged us not o. Still no response from Sylvan. Do yourself a favour and save your hard earned money from this joke of a company!
